Solubility measurement - Kinetic & Intrinsic
Delivers solubility, supersaturation and precipitation kinetics from just 1mg of drug.
Overview
Solubility measurement on SiriusT3, GLpKa & PCA200.
- Equilibrium and kinetic solubility results in just 1 hour
- Measures both extent and duration of supersaturation
- pH dependent solubility profile from just one experiment
- Wide measurement range
- Easily measure solubility at different temperatures, or in different solvents
- Perform solubility & supersaturation measurements in excipients
- Sample does not require chromophore
- Result confirmed several times within same experiment
- No filtration or separation required
The Solubility module for SiriusT3, GLpKa and PCA200 offers the ability to measure equilibrium solubility by pH-metric titration, using two powerful methods - our patented CheqSol method for dynamic and fast determinations with potentiometric cycling and a Bjerrum method which uses a whole curve fitting approach. In combination these methods can measure solubility for all ionizable compounds.
Our Solubility module provides unique information about Supersaturation and the precipitation & dissolution kinetics of ionizable molecules. We can rapidly measure both the extent and duration of supersaturation, under aqueous or cosolvent conditions and in the presence of additives, excipients and biorelevant media.
Example: Imipramine (no supersaturation)

Example: Dipyridamole (significant supersaturation)

Our latest instrument, the SiriusT3 comes with full CheqSol Solubility functionality as standard, and allows intrinsic solubility, kinetic solubility and superaturation to be measured with just a few milligrams of sample!.
Existing GLpKa and PCA200 users can obtain the solubility measurement module as a low-cost upgrade.
Many of our recent publications have focused on the areas of solubility, supersaturation and polymorphism.
