GLpKa and D-PAS Training Course

We will hold our next scheduled GLpKa/D-PAS training course in the week beginning 23rd February 2009, at our headquarters in Forest Row, East Sussex, UK.

The full training course takes place over five days. The first three days focus on GLpKa, and the second two on D-PAS. You may attend the whole course or either part depending on your training needs.

At all times, Sirius' expert applications chemists will be on-hand to answer your questions and provide you with the very latest assay design techniques and data processing methods.

You are welcome to bring along some of your own datasets for analysis during the course if you have problems with specific compounds that you would like to discuss.

Training Room
Places on the course are limited, and available on a first come/first served basis, so please register your interest as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. A complete purchase order is required to confirm your place on the course.

For GLpKa, the 3 day course will cover:

For D-PAS, the 2 day course will cover:

  • Reagent preparation and standardization
  • pH electrode standardization and troubleshooting
  • pH-metric pKa and logP measurement theory
  • Optimizing assay design, with guided hands on examples in our laboratory
  • pKa of insoluble compounds using CoSolvents
  • Strategies for measuring very low or very high pKas
  • Measurement of extreme logP values
  • Dealing with protogenic counter-ions
  • Processing datasets in RefinementPro
  • Creating reports & exporting data
  • Instrument maintenance
  • Theory of spectroscopic determination of pKa
  • Instrument setup
  • Instrument control
  • Spectroscopic refinement
  • Assay design
  • Data refinement
  • CoSolvent assays
  • Single and multiset refinements
  • Hands-on assay setup and data processing of drug examples in our laboratory
